Avatar: The Way of Movie Explained, How does Quaritch trap Jake?
Avatar: The Path of Water Plot Synopsis
Avatar: The Last Airbender aka Avatar 2 is the long-awaited sequel that follows Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) and their children as they live happily ever after on Pandora.
The Sullys must leave their home and find shelter with the Water People and hope their enemies don't find them.
Who are the spider parents?
After the events of the first Avatar movie, all the Sky People, the so-called people who support the RDA, are sent back to Earth. However, Spider-Man aka Miles is stuck in Pandora because the baby is too young to be put into cryo. She is raised by the lab kids and as she grows up she starts dating the Sullys.
Although Jake initially sees him as a stray cat and Neytiri is wary of him, Sully's children consider him family. It is later revealed that he is the son of Colonel Miles Quaritch and a woman named Socorro.
How is Kiri different from other avatars?
It turns out that Grace was pregnant when she died. In Avatar, it seemed that when Navi died, she was unable to transfer her soul to her avatar. However, as Ivan sensed, they seemed to be partially successful, as her avatar continued to full term and gave birth to Kiri.
Kiri was adopted by the Sullys and has 4 fingers like the avatars. While the rest of the Sully kids find it difficult to breathe underwater when they find shelter with Metkayina, aka the Water People, Kiri has no problem. He can also communicate with those in the water, as well as hear Ivan's breathing.
While interacting with Metkayina's Spirit Tree, he is able to meet Grace and ask why she is different from the others. But before Grace can answer, Kiri has a seizure, and the lab staff think she has epilepsy and forbid her from contacting the Spirit Tree anymore. But it is her spiritual leader Ron (Kate Winslet) who helps Metkayina heal through acupuncture.
Later, during the climax of Avatar: The Last Airbender, Kirie is able to control underwater creatures that kill humans after themselves. When Jake, Neytiri and Took are underwater, they control underwater creatures that light up to bring them back to the surface.
What is the story of the banished tulkun Payaka?
When Aonung, one of Metkayina's children, leaves Jake's young son Loak alone in the middle of the sea to play, a sea animal attacks him. Just as Loak is losing hope, Payakan, the one-winged tulk, rescues him and brings him home. They become friends, but Metkayina warns Loak to stay away because Payakan is a murderer, having supposedly killed his relatives and the Na'vi tribe, which alienates him. But Loak refuses to believe that Payakan is the killer, so he continues to contact him.
One day they bond and Loak learns the truth. Apparently, the man hunters who kill the tulkuns for their anti aging 'amrita' killed Payaka's mother. Out of anger, he gathered his kin and the Navi tribe to attack the hunters, but it turned into a massacre as all but Payakan were killed.
When the Na'vi tulkuns start to warn them that Quatritch is targeting them, they purposely don't tell Payakan, forcing Loak to go out alone to warn them. As his friends try to stop him, Quatritch spots them and traps Payaka. However, the children manage to free him and tell him to run.
But he returns when Quatritch takes Sullis hostage and begins attacking the warships. In a moment of karma, he also kills fox hunters. When the Sullys are submerged after their warship goes down, Payakan finds Loak and helps them to the surface.
How does Colonel Miles Quaritch live?
As we last saw, Colonel Miles Quaritch, a human officer in the RDA army, was fighting Jake and Neytiri before the two killed him. However, in Avatar: The Last Airbender, Quaritch is seen to have a backup plan. Back on Earth, they raised avatar clones of his gang, including himself, if they were killed.
All of her memories and personality are copied into a chip and placed into her avatar, creating a successful Navi clone of herself. Quaritch's Navi version talks and feels like the original Quaritch's human son looks and feels when he begins to unwittingly bond with Spider-Man. When Neytiri, who is holding Kiri as a hostage, threatens to kill the Spider, Navi Quaritch surrenders and frees her.
In the end, when Jake knocks her unconscious, she swims underwater and ends up under an overturned battleship. While searching for the similarly stuck Jake, Spider encounters Quaritch. Unable to leave her, Spider rescues her and brings her to the surface. When Quaritch comes to, he asks Spider to come with him, but the boy refuses and returns to Sullis.
How does Quaritch trap Jake?
Hell-bent on avenging the human Quaritch and stopping the Navi resistance led by Jake, Navi Quaritch's plan revolves around killing his former subordinate. He first encounters the Sully children and decides to use them as bait when they find the remains of the human Quaritch. His gang intercepts an attack by Spider, Loak, Kiri and Took, the youngest Sully, and Jake, Neytiri and their eldest son Neteyam while waiting for transport. They free Sully's children, but Spider is taken hostage.
Later, while searching for Jake, Quaritch decides to lure him out by attacking the tulkuns, as he knows that the Na'vi will not be indifferent to the killing of their animals. This eventually becomes the catalyst that causes Loak to go out to sea alone to warn Payaka. The rest of the Sully children, Aonung and his sister Tsireya, follow him as they try to stop him. Unfortunately, they find that Payaka has already become a target for hunters.
As they try to remove the tracking device from the hulk, Quaritch appears on the battleship. As the RDA approaches, the children and Payakan split up and dive under the water, hoping to escape them. Unfortunately, Loak, Tuck, and Tsireya are captured and tied to the rail of the ship. Quaritch uses Loak's messages to make a deal - the kids for Jake.
As Jake makes his way to the warship alone, Payakan attacks and the rest of the Navi attack in the chaos. While RDA engages in defense, Neteyam boards the ship and frees the hostages. Unfortunately, as they try to escape, Quaritch's gang captures Kiri and Tuck. When Jake gets on board, Quaritch threatens him with a knife to Kiri's throat.
How do the Sullys escape the Sky People?
After attacking the Metkayina Sky People aka RDA and destroying their army, they disperse, leaving the Sullys alone. While mourning the death of Neteyam, who was shot while rescuing a spider, Quaritch tells Jake that he will free Kiri and Tuck in his stead. Jake and Neytiri attack the battleship and take out all but Quaritch's crew. As Jake frees Tuck, he sees Quaritch using Kirin as a shield.
Quaritch tells Jake to cuff himself, but Neytiri finds the Spider and threatens him. At first, Quaritch is unimpressed and tells him to kill Spider, but when he interrupts the boy, the Colonel lets Kirin go. As the Sullys prepare to leave, Quaritch pleads with Jake, telling him he'll never leave him alone until one of them dies.
Jake surrenders and attacks Quaritch underwater while the rest of the Sullys try to escape. But Tuk stays in the current and Neytiri follows him. Spider and Kiri are left alone and leave to find everyone. Using his connection to Eywa, Kiri finds Neytiri and Tuku trapped beneath the fallen warship and brings them to the surface.
Meanwhile, Loak leaves Neteyam's body with Tsireya and finds Jake, who is on the verge of passing out after defeating Quaritch. They follow Kiri's light creatures to get off the warship, and from there Payakan finds them and brings them to the surface. They join the girls and Spider in a tearful hug.
