The Calling Season 1 Episode Number 7 Preview and review
The Calling Season 1
Episode 7 Preview & Review
Paul is still in disbelief and finally tells his children that he is never coming back. Earl is mad at Brad for trying to shut Anna up. Avi calms her down and tells her that she doesn't know for sure. Brad tries to win Marcy over by turning her against the police. He still doesn't know about the relationship. Kathleen asked Janine to keep an eye on Avi because he was too involved.
When Paul shows up at the station, they use good cop and bad cop to break him up. Paul is worried about Danny and takes him to his therapist, Dr. He took him to Sands. The detectives' strategy succeeds as Paul allows Avi to access his computer and other devices for clues.
While Earl and Janine catch Brad with Anna, Avi politely convinces Marcie to come down to the station, where he talks about his relationship. John has something important to tell Avi, but he can't do it at the moment. He asks to meet her later to discuss it.
Earl becomes more judgmental and biased towards Brad. It has something to do with his past, and Kathleen warns him that he's falling into old habits. Marcie is furious. But he had no knowledge of this, which cleared him of suspicion.
He can't account for Brad last night. Avi reassures Early about his dilemma and inner conflict. But he needs to do a better job of controlling his emotions and not letting them cloud his clarity of thought. He has come a long way since his first partnership with Avi.
Brad's computer history has something to do with making a bomb, but he pleads guilty. Anna regains consciousness and explains to the police that she and Brad had a long-standing relationship. Marcie found out, and so she pulled Gabrielle out of daycare. Anna felt guilty too, but then Brad made her do it one last time, and that's when Earl caught them. She was afraid of what Brad would do to her and the kids if she didn't comply.
Janine tries to corner him in the back entrance and Earl fights Brad. He remembers Avi's words and tries hard enough not to use too much force on Brad, but Janine thinks otherwise. After Brad complains, he feels like he's mistakenly covering for Kathleen. That night, he goes to Avi to confirm if Earl is really the one who interfered with the procedure and could violate the rights.
Avi defends his friend and partner, and Janine comes to Avi's side, saying that if they're wrong, she won't defend anyone's rights. The detectives surprise Paul at his new job, and Avi talks to him about his job and how it brings him satisfaction.
Janine talks about quitting and Paul starts to get angry. Paul claims he will never quit. But Janine is caught when she remembers the money lost in cryptocurrency. He then tries to turn the conversation to Elizabeth being suicidal after losing her money. But the detectives don't believe it.
They meet at Hanni's. He insulted Paul and said he was holding Elizabeth. He sticks to the story he told earlier. When the detectives begin their investigation, they are no closer to answers about Elizabeth. Avi stares out at the ocean, childhood memories of his father playing on his back flash in his eyes.
Episode Review
The Calling's cinematic universe still has a lot of steam. With only one episode left, it seems difficult to tie up all the loose ends effectively. Or is it another signal that there will be a second season?
Anyway, episode 7 revealed the main reason for Brad's actions and also revealed Brad as the main culprit. It was very easy for the writers to make this creative choice, and it's certainly disappointing. Elisabeth's missing case remains unsolved, and Avi and Janine get closer with each new detail.
Avi's growing personal problems catch up. It's a nice development for a character who already seems emotionally charged. Everything points to a crescendo, but something suggests that the ending may not be for everyone.
